The GGM

Why the strange name; The Greener Grass Mama? Well, just two reasons, really. First, as a mother, there are a lot of decisions to make in raising a kid. Or several of them in my case. So, I'm always seeking where the grass is greener; in motherhood, and in life. The other reason is I really love the smell of grass. Otherwise, I would never beg my husband to let me mow the grass or to go golfing. If fresh cut grass didn't smell so good, both of those activities would just be extremely annoying.

I am the mother of four children, and an awesome hubby. I write books and magazine articles and this blog. I love to write. It's the coolest thing I've ever done with my life (besides having an awesome hubby and kids, of course). I also love cheap wine, ebooks, slow rivers, good films, dancing, horses, folk music, great friends, pop psychology, full moons, sort-of running, yoga, Indian food, the movie 'We Bought A Zoo', and God. I work from my kitchen counter and have mastered the skill of ignoring a sink full of dishes or laundry piled to the ceiling.

I am also the author of several books for teens, young adults, and kids! Check them out on the Children's Book page.

I hope that mothers will realize they are not alone when they read my blog. I hope I help mothers be honest with themselves, take a deep breath, and know that everything's going to be okay even when the kids are screaming at the top of their lungs at each other (or at you). I hope to make mother's laugh, and even share their own stories. I hope to make mothers feel connected even when stuck at home for days dealing with snotty noses and throw up.

I'm here to make sure all Mommas know that they make the world go 'round.

Oh, yeah, and those 'credentials' behind the name: Mommy Blogger (MB), Freelance Writer Independent Author(FWIA), Mother Of Four Kick Ass Kids(MOFKAK). I'm also a Domestic Engineer (DE), but I don't really feel qualified enough to earn the credentials. So go ahead, put them behind your name, too, if they apply. Mamas deserve credentials, too.
